Tina Scott Polsky is a highly experienced, full-time Florida Certified Civil Circuit Mediator, and a Certified Appellate Mediator, for all areas of litigation, including: general commercial litigation, employment law, insurance coverage, personal injury, HOA, malpractice, and foreclosures; and an Elder Law Mediator (owner of Elder Care Mediations, LLC), having successfully resolved thousands of cases. Tina is also a Florida State Senator for District 29 and a former Representative for the Florida House of Representatives District 81.
She is an American Arbitration Association Mediator, FINRA Mediator and Arbitrator and a State Mediator for Property Insurance Claims. Tina is also certified as a Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediator. She has been a guest lecturer at Nova Southeastern Law School, was a featured speaker on mediation issues at the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Seminar Group’s Labor & Employment Seminar, the 2009 Human Resource Association of Broward County Annual Conference and the Broward County Women Lawyers’ Foreclosure Seminar in 2010. Tina also serves as a neutral investigator for workplace disputes and mediates internal disputes for companies.
Tina’s previous experience was as Director of Mediation Services for Pitney Bowes, Inc., in Stamford, CT, where she resolved internal disputes with employees. She also managed administrative agency charges and diversity for the Mailing Systems Division. Prior to that, Tina worked for Bankers Trust Company in New York as a Vice President in Employee Relations. In her corporate roles, Tina has experience in managing litigation and arbitration involving employment disputes relating to discrimination, harassment, FLSA, wrongful termination and contractual issues. She also investigated and resolved internal claims of harassment or discrimination and mediated disputes between managers and employees. Tina counseled Human Resources personnel on appropriate disciplinary actions, terminations and legal issues. She trained managers and employees on employment law, harassment and proper managerial responses.
Prior to joining Bankers Trust, Tina practiced law with two law firms in New York. She was an associate at Proskauer Rose and Morrison Cohen Singer & Weinstein in the Litigation and Labor & Employment Departments. As an associate in both firms, she practiced general litigation and counseled clients on a variety of employment law and discrimination issues, participated in administrative proceedings, arbitrations and mediations and managed all aspects of State and Federal Court cases.
During law school, Tina interned with the Honorable Robert W. Sweet in the Southern District of New York, and the United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of New York. Prior to law school, she was a litigation paralegal at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
Tina is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate of Columbia Law School.
Tina is a member of the ADL Regional Board, ADL Civil Rights Committee, a volunteer with Best Foot Forward (and the Best Foot Forward Scholarship at St. Thomas Law School), Pretzels for Parkinson’s and Kindness Matters.
